Little Laborers

Little Laborers is a video diptych in which the right video depicts two dogs pulling an invisible (but suggested) load through the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the second, the load becomes an animated blob-shaped paper mache sculpture that moves through the museum space. The work asks who are the beasts of burden in the art market and who are the beneficiaries of their labor. From young artists making the work of established ones to established artists creating the product that fuels the overall system— the webs of power are complex and often obfuscated.
